Here's a good example of how much finish work actually matters in a kitchen. The bones of this space were totally solid - good layout, hardwood floors, decent footprint. But the light maple cabinets, terracotta walls, and dated hardware were making the whole room feel stuck in the early 2000s. Nothing was broken. It just didn't feel right anymore.

What we did here was focused and intentional. The cabinets got painted out in a deep charcoal gray, the trim got cleaned up, and new brass hardware was installed throughout. The walls shifted to a light neutral, and a white marble-look countertop and backsplash replaced what was there before. Under-cabinet lighting was added too - that detail alone does a lot for how a kitchen feels at night.

The thing people don't always realize about cabinet painting is how much prep work goes into it. You can't just roll paint over existing finish and call it done. Proper adhesion, the right primer, the right topcoat - that's what separates a finish that holds up from one that chips and peels inside of a year. We take that process seriously on every kitchen we touch.

The result here speaks for itself. Same layout, same footprint, same hardwood floors - but a completely different kitchen. Dark cabinetry paired with bright countertops and warm brass accents gives the space a finished, high-end look without a full gut renovation. It's one of the highest-impact updates you can make to a home, and it's a fraction of the cost of replacing everything.

If your kitchen is starting to feel outdated and you're not sure where to start, cabinet painting and a few well-chosen finish updates might be exactly what you're looking for. We do this kind of work regularly and we know how to get it right.
