Most rooms look fine. But fine isn't the same as finished. There's a big difference between a room that's painted and furnished versus one that actually has character - and trim work is usually what closes that gap.
That's exactly what we tackled here. Two separate rooms, both starting with flat, plain walls that had nothing going on. We came in, installed custom picture frame molding from floor to ceiling, caulked every seam, and painted everything out for a clean, cohesive look. The kind of detail that makes people walk in and immediately notice something is different - even if they can't pinpoint exactly what.
What we love about this type of work is how much weight it carries without being loud about it. The molding creates depth and structure. It breaks up a long, blank wall in a way that no piece of furniture or artwork ever really could. And when it's painted out in a single tone, the whole thing reads as intentional and built-in - like it came with the house.
This is a combination of our custom carpentry and interior painting work. The carpentry side takes precision - every piece has to be measured, cut, and set so the panels line up perfectly across the full length of the wall. Then the painting side ties it all together. Miss either step and it shows. Get both right and the room looks like it belongs in a magazine.
If you've got a room that feels like it's missing something, this kind of trim work is worth considering. It's not a huge renovation. But the result doesn't feel small at all.
